The Disease-Free Generation is a health education promotion program dedicated to building a generation in Tanzania free from preventable diseases such as malaria, HIV/AIDS, Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), and non-communicable diseases (NCDs). We empower communities, especially children, adolescents, youth, and middle-aged individuals, with the knowledge and tools for disease prevention. We utilize storytelling approach and promote programs such as WASH as a cross cutting solution to disease prevention.

Through storytelling, we’ve developed animated books and short, entertaining videos designed to captivate young minds and inspire behavior change. One of our flagship resources is “Ziada and Onyo,” a school aged children’s storybook focused on malaria prevention, which has already reached over 3,000 students in Tanzania.

To deepen impact at the grassroots level, we also organize community gatherings where we deliver health education in simple, relatable language, addressing local health concerns and demystifying prevention strategies.

As part of our vision to a disease-free generation, we partnered with Doctor Rafiki (A dedicated podcast host and social media content creator for health and wellness) to strengthen Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) efforts among children and youth in Tanzania. This initiative centers on establishing Health Hubs in schools to promote safe hygiene practices, youth-led local innovations for WASH and raise awareness about the health impacts of climate change. Through the use of storytelling and age-appropriate storybooks and videos, students will explore real-life WASH challenges and solutions in ways that are relatable and empowering. The hubs will also support  and encourage peer learning, creativity, and youth-driven advocacy for healthier school and community environments.
