AHDA Partners with Doctor Rafiki Africa to Transform WASH Education Through Storytelling
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – Amplify Health and Development in Africa (AHDA) has joined forces with Doctor Rafiki Africa to address critical Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) challenges among Tanzanian children and youth. This partnership marks the beginning of collaborative efforts toward planning, designing, and implementing the project: "WASH Education Through Storytelling: Empowering Tanzanian Children and Youth as Change Agents for Healthier Communities."
The collaboration leverages the storytelling expertise of Doctor Rafiki and AHDA's health systems, climate change, and community engagement strategies to create engaging educational materials, including podcasts, storybooks, and videos. These resources aim to inspire children and youth to adopt and champion better WASH practices in their communities.
Innovative Educational Tools
AHDA and Doctor Rafiki Africa shall jointly design and pilot storybooks, develop podcasts, and produce other media content to bring health education to life. By mobilizing resources and co-hosting advocacy campaigns, the partnership ensures a widespread impact that resonates with younger generations. The project is rooted in transparency, shared decision-making, and a deep commitment to empowering Tanzanian youth for a healthier future.
"By blending the power of storytelling with public health expertise, we are not just teaching hygiene; we are creating a movement where children become the primary advocates for health in their households and schools."
