Building Resilient Communities for Healthier Futures
Executive Director's Reflection
Dear partners and friends,
Before diving into the highlights of February and our plans for March, allow me to bring you into a quick reflection given the current global situation. We all acknowledge that strong and resilient community health systems are essential, especially in a time full of crises and geopolitical tension. Just as disease in one corner of the world threatens everyone, so do wars and conflicts that escalate to affect economic positions and shake the global market. There are many health and health-related risks we are already observing and will further observe.
The Official Development Assistance (ODA) continues to shrink, along with many other supports that we in the LMICs greatly depend on for our community interventions in health and development. To sustain momentum and build stronger community and primary healthcare systems, we must strengthen integration of our interventions, promote local ownership and solutions, embrace responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence and novel technologies to speed progress and efficiency, and build stronger theories of change with effective monitoring and impact evaluation systems. Most importantly, we must intentionally bring youth, women, and community health workers on board, support and capacitate them effectively.
That is why AHDA is committed to building healthy, resilient, and developed communities by harnessing the potential of women, youth, and community health workers. Since January, we have actively engaged with the government of Tanzania, our board members, independent advisors, partners, and staff to develop mechanisms for effective community engagement. We are also strengthening women's and youth empowerment through dialogues, storytelling, and direct support while striving to connect, sustain, and scale partnerships for good.
Welcome to explore our newsletter and reach out for any potential partnership or collaboration.

Strategic Planning & Governance
2026-2030: RESILIENT 2030 Strategy
On January 17th, AHDA's Board reviewed our comprehensive 2025 achievements and approved our ambitious 2026-2030 strategy. The meeting focused on strengthening governance, examining our costed annual plan, and setting strategic direction for building resilient communities through enhanced coordination mechanisms. This was further followed up with a comprehensive review and advisory meetings with external committee on the upcoming integrated advocacy project to support communities in advancing their efforts to eliminate malaria and NTD amid the challenging climate change impacts.
Spotlight: Key Initiatives
Stakeholders Engagement Forum
In collaboration with the Ministry of Health and PMO-RALG, with the support of Global Institute for Disease Elimination (GLIDE) we convened a Stakeholders Forum in Morogoro to validate our community-level approach for an integrated advocacy project capacitating Community Health Workers (CHWs). The forum aligned on implementation strategies for integrated advocacy to strengthen community action against Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases in the context of climate change.
